Network Settings

⚠️ Power over Ethernet (PoE) is not supported for GRN products and must not be used under any circumstances. The use of PoE with GRN products is strictly prohibited. Any non-compliance with this requirement may result in damage to the equipment. The company assumes no liability for any damages, malfunctions, or consequential losses arising from such misuse.

To configure network settings, go to the sidebar and click on „Network“.
This will open the „Network Settings“ section in the main window.

Inside that section, you'll find a box titled „Network Settings“ with all available options for Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

1. Select Interface

At the top of the page, you’ll find a dropdown menu to select the interface you want to configure, e.g.:

  • Ethernet 1
  • Wi-Fi 1
  • etc.

⚠️ Settings shown below apply only to the selected interface.

2. Ethernet Interface Settings

DHCP (automatic)

  • Enable the „DHCP“ checkbox to let the BMS automatically get its IP settings from your router.

Static IP (manual)

If DHCP is disabled, you need to manually enter:

  • IP Addresses:
    • Add at least one
    • Use „+„ to add more, „–“ to remove last
  • DNS Nameservers:
    • Same add/remove logic
    • Used to resolve domain names (e.g. grnbms.de)
  • Gateway:
    • Usually the IP of your router (e.g. 192.168.1.1)

3. Wi-Fi Interface Settings

Wi-Fi interfaces support two modes: Access Point or Client (Station)

➤ Access Point Mode

If „Use as Access Point“ is checked, enter:

  • SSID – WiFi name
  • Password – WPA2 key
  • IP Address – e.g. 192.168.4.1

📶 Devices can connect directly to this access point for setup.

➤ Client Mode (normal Wi-Fi)

If Access Point mode is not checked, the interface acts like Ethernet:

  • DHCP checkbox
  • Or manual:
    • IP Address(es)
    • DNS Servers
    • Gateway

💡 Wrong network settings may make the BMS unreachable. Use DHCP if unsure.
