How to Set Up GRNbms MK3 in Loxone via Modbus

  1. Configure the Modbus settings in GRN OS under the „Network“ menu.
  2. Open your Loxone Config software and create a Modbus server with the IP address and port of your BMS.
  3. Download the Modbus template for GRNbms MK3 from the Wiki page.
  4. Import the template using the „Predefined Devices“ function.
  5. Done! You now have access to all information from your BMS and can integrate it into your smart home..

The BMS can output status values for each individual cell, such as error, balancing active, etc., when a GRNcmu is used. This information is included in the register of the respective cell voltage. To read this data, you need to query it bitwise. How this works is demonstrated in the Loxone Config example project, which is also available for download.
